Typically, wheelsets come in a matching pair, and while it's common for riders to run with slightly lower air pressure in the front, most still run the same wheel in the front and back.
Crankbrothers took a different path when designing their Synthesis Carbon Wheelset—recognizing the different rolls the front and rear wheel play. More compliance in the front adds to the wheel's ability to stick to tight lines and hold great traction. At the same time, added stiffness in the rear gives you the confidence to power through big impacts and hold onto tight turns.
Crankbrothers went back and forth with countless designs and prototypes until they reached an ideal combo that offers just the right balance.
The Synthesis front wheel features a reduced number of spokes, lighter gauge spokes, and lower spoke tension. The front rim is also more lightweight and slightly wider than the rear. This design gives you a supple, compliant ride that tracks like a laser.
Crankbrothers then pairs it with a rear wheel with a higher spoke count, higher tension, and a narrower rim. With the added stiffness and different rim design, you get a sharp tire profile that's ideal for cornering. The rim design also features thicker flanges, explicitly built to handle high impacts and increase stability.
They've taken durability and strength to the next level in both rims, too. Backed with extensive research on how carbon rims fail and how to manage and avoid catastrophic failures, the rims have ultra-thick carbon sections that can't be matched in strength by traditional, thin-wall, tubular rims.
Crafted with special high-impact resins and tailored to disperse impacts, the rims have been designed with similar specifications to the carbon protection found in F-1 race cars. Crankbrothers backs up their build quality with a lifetime warranty on the carbon rims, too.

We currently offer both economy and expedited shipping options though FedEX and USPS.
Orders totaling over $49 are eligible to ship for free via an economy ground option of our choice.
If you're in need of something super-quick, please contact us directly. We may be able to overnight your order with an additional fee and depending on your location.
Returns
Should there be an issue with the item you bought, or you no longer need your purchase, we will be happy to set up a return.
All returns must be requested within sixty (60) days of the fulfillment date (i.e. the date we printed the shipping label and boxed up your order.) All returned items must be received in new and unused condition, with the original tags and labels attached, and in the original packaging. We cannot accept returns on any items that have been installed or show wear of any kind.
Return Process

Refunds
After receiving your return and inspecting the condition of your item, we will process your return. Please allow at least seven (7) days from the receipt of your item to process your return or exchange. We will notify you by email when your return has been processed.
For all Special Order items, there is a 25% restocking fee. Special Order items are those that we do not currently stock.
