TMB Review: Fox 2025 Transfer Factory Dropper Post

TMB Review - Fox Transfer Factory Dropper Post

The original Fox Transfer, released in 2020, was a durable, hardworking, pretty reliable dropper post. The latest Fox 2025 Transfer Factory Dropper Post keeps all those traits and adds a bunch of touchpoints that make it even better than before.

The most noticeable change is the aesthetics, with a much trimmer post head and lower-profile mounting hardware that gives the Transfer an overall more modern look. More importantly, Fox has added an air intake in the form of a Schrader valve tucked under the saddle. This is important because, whereas the previous generation post had to go back to Fox for maintenance if it leaked, now you can just add air yourself. The internals are all upgraded too, with new bushings, static seals, and a wiper, all of which Fox says reduce friction and minimize air loss.

A whopping five sizes are available, ranging from 120mm up to 240mm in 30mm increments. Fox includes five 5mm spacers for reducing travel in custom increments, and they are super simple to use. Just drop the post about 30mm, unscrew the collar, and pop in as many spacers as you like. Fox says all internals are user serviceable, as well, but don’t be fooled, this is not the Revive 3.0.

In testing, the feel and finish of the new Transfer is excellent. We liked that you could adjust the speed of the post by varying the air pressure, and the Transfer 1x Dropper Remote ($70) allowed for feathering of return speed, too. On the other hand, as with the Bike Yoke 3.0, the intake valve is buried beneath the saddle, making adjustments time-consuming. And while the overall form is smaller than before, compared to the OneUp V3, the Transfer is longer (by around 25mm, depending on size) and heavier (by nearly 100g). Given that this post will set you back $410, it’s tough to argue for it over the OneUp.

Bottom Line: Great improvements over the previous generation and a track record of excellent durability. You can’t really go wrong with this post. But, unless you’re wedded to the Kashima gold flare on your bike, there are both higher value and more highly featured posts out there.
