Exact replacement for XT/ 8100 series levers. Also fits 7100 and 9100 series levers.
The process to install is pretty straightforward except for the installation one small spring that is admittedly a pain. It isn't at all obvious, but it goes *inside* the outer housing of the lever blade and is secured by the same pin that secures the blade to the lever.

Had a pedal fall off the spindle on the highway. Thunder Mountain rented me a pair of Tenet flats for the week. Saved my whole trip! And the team is so kind, knowledgeable, & excited to get people biking. Highly highly recommend this place!

Oops, didn't know the brakes on my new to me E-bike were hydraulic so goofed up and let some fluid pour out at the handlebar brake levers. Thunder mountain kept the bike overnight and did their whole brake bleeding rigmarole so that I could pick up the bike the next day, and at a very reasonable price. :)

We appreciated and studied all of the trail info on their website, so we stopped in for a quick visit after riding. Nice, local shop! Good selection of riding clothes and gear, and nice folks. The next day, my son hit a rock on Easy Breezy and trashed his derailleur. So we swung by again, and they fixed my son's derailleur on short notice (20 minutes!), which saved the trip for him. Much appreciated, definitely recommend.

This is a great derailleur, it came on my new mountain bike until I smashed it against a rock. Much easier on the wallet to replace than the XT and XTR versions. The one thing I’d consider changing out are the wheels since the XT and XTR have upgraded bearings. However, I’m not sure a derailleur would last long enough to tell the difference 😲

While the higher end XT and XTR chains have a special coating for prolonged chain life, as a Silca wax user, I strip those finishes off anyway so this chain is a much better value for my use case.
