When the Occult first launched in 2020, Tenet had no idea how quickly the pedal would garner a true cult-like following. Reborn from this passion, the evolution of the Occult V2 pedal has been substantial.

Tenet has tweaked, altered, modified, tested, and re-tested until they knew they had crafted the best flat pedal they've ever made. This update might night not look significant from the outside, but it's what's going on inside that counts.

After thorough testing, they found that an 11mm spindle was a happy medium between low profile and durability, allowing the pedal to pass the industry-leading EFBE Gravity Tri-Test. The Occult V2 also has a completely redesigned seal to significantly reduce water ingress, extending the life of the internals. Lastly, a minor tweak to the platform machining allows for larger MR116-2RS sealed bearings to increase longevity further.

All of these updates, combined with Tenet's industry-leading Pedal Refresh Program, make for the best flat pedal currently on the market.

Bold statement? Tenet doesn't think so.

EFBE TRI-TEST GRAVITY CERTIFIED

What is the EFBE Tri-Test, you say? All bicycles and their corresponding parts must pass international safety standards to be sold in the United States and beyond. This ISO standard is considered the bare minimum for a product to be deemed "safe" for consumer usage, but it falls short in real-world usage. This is why EFBE has created the "Tri-Test" to put products like ours through more strenuous fatigue, maximum load, and overload tests to better replicate the forces found during a product's lifespan. The Occult V2 not only passes ISO testing, but it also passes EFBE's most stringent Tri-Test Gravity test. Click here to learn more about EFBE and its unique testing standards.

What is the difference between the Occult V2 and Omen V2 pedals?

What's The Same?

The Occult V2 and Omen V2 share the same platform shape, pin placement, internal design, and use all the same small parts. All parts between the two pedals are 100% interchangeable, which means both pedals benefit from the enhanced durability that has allowed them to pass the coveted EFBE Tri-Test Gravity test.

The Occult

tenet occult flat pedal in umber

TENET's flagship flat pedal, the Occult V2, is a product of meticulous craftsmanship in Taiwan. To create the pedal's foundation, a precise CNC machining process is employed, shaping it from a single extruded aluminum bar. While this process can introduce subtle micro-marring on the surface, these tiny imperfections are challenging to remove and don't lend themselves well to achieving a high-polish finish. Therefore, the pedal undergoes a media blasting treatment post-machining to attain a cohesive matte finish before it is anodized and laser etched, ensuring a polished final product.

The Omen

The Omen V2, TENET's precision-crafted flat pedal proudly manufactured in Washington, embodies meticulous attention to detail. Carved entirely from a solid block of aluminum, this pedal showcases a striking appearance and flawless finish as a testament to Tenet's unwavering commitment to excellence. Extensive hours were devoted to refining the tool path, resulting in captivating tool markings and pristine pedal surfaces, with no post-CNC handwork required. Following machining, the pedals undergo thorough washing and inspection before the anodizing process. To ensure exceptional durability within this price range, additional supporting material was retained in the front and rear sections, preserving maximum stiffness. The result is a beautifully crafted, exceptionally robust flat pedal built to endure the test of time.

My new favorite pedal!

So glad I got two sets of the Occult V2s, silver for my Fuse and umber for my Arktos 140. I’m a size 10.5 shoe and the Chesters I was using always felt too small. These were a game changer! My confidence in the air has improved overnight. Thunder Mountain was a pleasure to deal with as well. I’m a former Arizonan and have spent some time riding the Sedona, Flag, and Grand Canyon trails, so supporting
such a cool northern AZ bike shop was a no-brainer! I’m in the PNW now and believe Tenet is out of Bellingham, WA so that’s cool too. Check these pedals out! I can’t see me using anything but these for quite some time!
